Daren Voicebank Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern the use of the official Daren voicebanks and constitute the primary license applicable to their use.

By downloading, installing, or using a Daren voicebank, you agree to these Terms.

1. Definitions

For the purposes of these Terms:

"Daren" refers to the character, identity, and project associated with the voicebank.

"Voicebank" refers to the voice samples, phonetic data, configurations, parameters, installation files, and other resources distributed officially as part of a Daren voicebank.

"User" refers to any person who downloads, installs, or uses a Daren voicebank.

"Work" refers to any song, composition, production, video, cover, or other content created using the voicebank.

"Official Distributor" refers to any channel authorized to distribute Daren voicebanks.

2. Grant of License

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, and non-transferable license to use the Daren voicebank within compatible software for the purpose of creating musical and audiovisual works.

This license allows you to use Daren as a vocal instrument within your own productions.

This license does not transfer ownership of the voicebank, the recordings comprising it, or any rights associated with the Daren character.

3. Musical Use

You may freely use Daren to create:

• Original songs.

• Covers.

• Remixes.

• Arrangements.

• Musical productions.

• Demos.

• Albums.

• EPs.

• Singles.

• Soundtracks.

• Music for videos.

• Audiovisual performances.

• Other musical projects.

You do not need to request individual permission for every song created with Daren when the use falls within this license.

4. Commercial Use of Songs

Musical works created using Daren may be used commercially.

You may, among other things:

• Monetize songs.

• Release music on streaming platforms.

• Sell songs.

• Include songs in commercial albums.

• Use Daren in monetized videos.

• Receive revenue from streams or other platforms.

• Use Daren in professional musical projects.

No royalties are owed to the Daren project merely because the voicebank is used in a song, unless a separate agreement expressly states otherwise.

You remain responsible for obtaining any licenses required for third-party material used in your Work.

For example, permission to use Daren does not replace the rights required to use a musical composition, instrumental, sample, image, video, or other material belonging to another party.

5. Use in Videos and Audiovisual Content

Daren may be used in:

• YouTube videos.

• TikTok videos.

• Shorts.

• Social media content.

• Music videos.

• Animations.

• Promotional videos.

• Streams.

• Audiovisual presentations.

Monetization of such content is permitted, provided that all applicable third-party rights are respected.

6. Credits

Credits are recommended but not required, unless a separate license or collaboration agreement establishes otherwise.

When possible, we recommend crediting the voicebank using wording such as:

Vocal: Daren
Voicebank by [CREATOR / PROJECT]

Equivalent wording that properly identifies the voicebank is also acceptable.

Failure to provide credit does not, by itself, turn an otherwise permitted use into a violation of these Terms.

7. Voice Editing and Processing

You may edit and process Daren's voice for use in your productions.

This includes, but is not limited to:

• Equalization.

• Compression.

• Reverb.

• Delay.

• Distortion.

• Saturation.

• Pitch correction.

• Pitch editing.

• Time editing.

• Formant shifting.

• Creative processing.

• Mixing with other voices or instruments.

Processed audio may be used as part of a Work in accordance with these Terms.

However, these permissions do not allow you to extract, reconstruct, or redistribute the voicebank as an independent vocal resource.

8. Performance and Character Interpretation

You may direct and interpret Daren's voice according to the needs of your Work.

You may use different:

• Emotions.

• Performance styles.

• Vocal registers.

• Vocal techniques.

• Expressions.

• Musical genres.

A performance or interpretation created by a User does not automatically constitute an official statement by Daren or its creators.

9. Sensitive Content

You may not use Daren to create or distribute:

• Pornography.

• Explicit sexual content.

• Sexualization of minors.

• Content depicting sexual abuse.

• Material glorifying sexual exploitation.

• Hate-based content targeting individuals or groups.

• Threats.

• Targeted harassment.

• Content promoting illegal activities.

The fictional depiction of dramatic, violent, or mature themes does not automatically constitute a violation, provided that the Work does not fall into any category expressly prohibited by these Terms.

10. Political and Religious Use

Daren must not be presented as an official spokesperson or representative of:

• Political parties.

• Political candidates.

• Electoral campaigns.

• Political organizations.

• Religious organizations.

• Official religious positions.

Users may create fictional Works involving political or religious themes, provided that such views are not presented as official statements made by Daren or its creators.

The official identity of Daren must not be used to create the impression that the project officially endorses a particular political or religious position.

11. Artificial Intelligence and Voice Cloning

You may not use the Daren voicebank, its samples, or its files to train, develop, or improve artificial intelligence or voice-cloning systems without prior express authorization.

This includes:

• AI model training.

• Dataset creation.

• Voice cloning.

• Voice conversion intended to reproduce Daren.

• Derived synthesis models.

• Checkpoints.

• Embeddings.

• Machine-learning models.

• Redistribution of models trained using Daren materials.

You may not extract the original voice samples from the voicebank for the purpose of creating an independent vocal system.

12. Voicebank Redistribution

The voicebank may not be redistributed.

This includes:

• Uploading the complete voicebank to websites.

• Sharing it through torrents.

• Publishing it in repositories.

• Including it in software packages.

• Sharing modified copies.

• Sharing modified installers.

• Distributing the original voice samples.

• Sharing files extracted from the voicebank.

Copies must be obtained exclusively through authorized distribution channels.

13. Voicebank Modifications

You may not redistribute a modified version of the voicebank.

You may make local modifications necessary for your own workflow, provided that you:

1. Do not redistribute the modified files.

2. Do not extract the original voice samples.

3. Do not use the modifications to create a new distributable voicebank.

4. Do not use the modifications to train AI models without authorization.

Files derived exclusively for personal use remain subject to these Terms.

14. Software Compatibility

Daren may be used with software and platforms compatible with the corresponding voicebank.

Compatibility may vary between voicebank versions and software versions.

The Daren project does not guarantee that a voicebank will remain compatible indefinitely with future versions of third-party software.

Any additional terms imposed by the software being used must also be respected.

15. Distribution of Works Containing Daren

You may distribute a Work containing audio generated with Daren.

This includes, for example:

• Songs.

• Videos.

• Films.

• Animations.

• Albums.

• Games, when separately authorized.

• Social media content.

Distribution of the finished Work does not constitute redistribution of the voicebank, provided that the recipient cannot reasonably reconstruct or extract the voicebank from the Work.

16. Games and Interactive Projects

Use of Daren in video games, applications, visual novels, and other interactive projects requires prior express authorization when Daren forms part of the distributed content as a character, integrated voice, or interactive element of the project.

Permission to create a song using Daren does not automatically grant permission to integrate the voicebank or its resources into a game or application.

17. Derivative Works

You retain the rights applicable to your own original compositions, arrangements, lyrics, productions, and other original elements.

However, use of Daren does not transfer ownership of:

• The Daren character.

• The official Daren design.

• Official illustrations.

• The voicebank.

• The recordings comprising the voicebank.

When a Work incorporates third-party materials, the applicable third-party licenses must also be respected.

18. Character and Visual Identity

Permission to use the voicebank does not automatically grant permission to use all illustrations, designs, or visual materials associated with Daren.

Visual materials created by third parties remain subject to their respective terms.

In particular, any elements corresponding to designs or illustrations created by RoussBlack are subject to the applicable terms of use and agreements established by the artist.

Use of the voicebank does not constitute an automatic license to reproduce, modify, commercialize, or redistribute such illustrations.

19. Fanworks

Fanworks related to Daren are permitted in accordance with the Daren Fanworks Policy.

When a particular use involves both the voicebank and the character, design, or visual materials, the applicable policies for each element must be followed.

20. Merchandise

Creating or selling merchandise based on Daren is not automatically authorized by these Terms.

Merchandise must comply with the Daren Merchandise Policy and, where required, receive prior authorization.

Permission to commercially use a song does not imply permission to manufacture physical products based on Daren.

21. Impersonation of the Official Project

You may not use Daren to impersonate the official project or its creators.

This includes:

• Creating profiles that appear to be official.

• Publishing false information as if it originated from the official project.

• Presenting a modified voicebank as an official version.

• Claiming that a song, product, or collaboration has official endorsement when no such endorsement exists.

22. Third-Party Rights and Additional Licenses

You are responsible for verifying the rights associated with any additional material used in your production.

This may include:

• Songs.

• Musical compositions.

• Lyrics.

• Instrumentals.

• Samples.

• Images.

• Videos.

• Choreography.

• Logos.

• Third-party characters.

• Illustrations.

• Software and plugins.

Permission to use Daren does not replace any third-party license.

23. Violation of These Terms

If these Terms are violated, the license granted under these Terms may be revoked.

Depending on the nature of the violation, you may be requested to:

• Remove content.

• Stop distributing specific material.

• Delete unauthorized redistributed copies.

• Cease unauthorized use.

• Correct a presentation that may cause confusion regarding official status.

Any rights available to the rights holder may be exercised in accordance with applicable law.

24. Updates

These Terms may be updated to:

• Incorporate new voicebank versions.

• Clarify permitted uses.

• Add new supported platforms.

• Establish new distribution rules.

• Address technological or legal developments.

The current version will be the version published with the voicebank or through the applicable official channels.

Previous versions may be retained for historical reference.

26. Acceptance

By downloading, installing, or using a Daren voicebank, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted these Terms of Use.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the voicebank.
